15 Minutes to Learn It

In a changing world and highly competitive market, successful industries must implement and leverage techniques and tactics to keep employee skills current and insure business growth. Learning does not require a full day seminar. Busy managers and their staff need to incorporate quick, to the point activities or micro-learning. The exercises and techniques discussed will require little to no budget and allow your team to have fun, learn and grow together. You can use these exercises in meetings or daily activities to facilitate customer service, team building and other skills. In this session, participants will understand the benefits of micro-learning, get an overview of basic adult learning principle and discuss methods and techniques that can accommodate today's geographically dispersed groups. Additionally, attendees will experiences exercises in the session and will be presented with various examples of using today's technology to assist in micro-learning.

This session gives colleagues the tools and best practices for fostering learning through short, fun activities. Participants will leave with proven activities that build different skills and a guide to implementing learning activities.

About the Speaker

Dana Olson brings nearly thirty years of experience from various support industry roles in diverse environments including education, insurance, information management and commodity management. She has thirteen years as an active practitioner managing service desks and owned consulting firm focused on Service Desk and Customer Relationship Management. Other roles include teacher, trainer and process manager. She is currently the Director of IT Services at Five Nines.

Dana acquired her knowledge through experience and continued education. In 2005, she became interested in the ITIL processes and has her ITIL Expert v3 certification. In 2010, she was certified as a Kepner-Tregoe Program Leader.

As an active HDI member since 2005, she has served as a Nebraska Chapter Officer, Central Regional Director, and Member Advisory Board Chair over the years.
